About LIF Conferences

Dear Colleagues,

 

As you know, annual International LIF Conferences have already become an academic platform for exchanging ideas, projects and scientific research between aspiring academics, teachers, and well-known researchers thanks to your invaluable contributions. In harmony with this spirit of academic enthusiasm, LIF2018 aims at providing a forum for participants from various disciplines and research communities to advance interconnections between ELT and SLA as well as to explore different perspectives on the application of research findings into practice.

Therefore, we would like to invite academics, scholars, representatives of central and local educational authorities, non-governmental organizations, school teachers and practitioners representing an exciting diversity of countries, cultures, and religions to meet and exchange ideas and views in a forum encouraging respectful dialogue. LIF2018, to be held in Thessaloniki, Greece, will be a great opportunity to meet experts in varied areas of ELT and SLA.

CONFERENCE THEME

LIF2018’s theme “Contemporary Means and Methods in ELT and Applied Linguistics” aims at providing a forum for researchers, teachers and educational representatives. Centered around topics in SLA and ELT, the conference will focus on:

However, the submission of other topics for consideration is welcome and we also encourage sessions within and across a variety of disciplines and fields related to Applied Linguistics and Teaching Foreign Languages.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION AND REGISTRATION

Abstracts of papers, workshops or posters in the range of 200-250 words should be sent via the conference website using Abstract Submission form by December 15, 2017. Each participant will have the opportunity to present 2 papers. You will be notified about the status of your submission by January 15, 2018.

CONFERENCE FEE

The conference/registration fee, which covers registration fee, conference materials, welcome cocktail, lunches, refreshments during the coffee breaks, conference dinner and the cost of subsequent publication is:

  • €250 (Early Bird Registration by February 16, 2018) 
  • €280 (Registration Fee- Deadline: by March 16, 2018)
  • €200 (Student Fee: B.A. M.A. and Ph.D. Students – Proof is required – Valid Student ID- by February 16, 2018)
