Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the LIF2021 organizing committee, we are sorry to inform you that in exercise of the powers conferred by article 26 of the Public Health Act, the Minister of Malta responsible for public health, after consultation with the Superintendent of Public Health, has decided that “All organised mass events shall be prohibited except for funerals.”
For this reason, we regret to inform you that the LIF2021 – 7th International Language in Focus Conference has been postponed due to concerns about COVID-19. We are going to organize LIF2022 next year in a different location. An information e-mail on this issue has been sent to the participants who had already sent their abstracts.
We are now in the process of evaluating and determining next steps, including policies and procedures with respect to registration. We work closely with our participants, staff, and partners to ensure they feel safe and supported. We will update you with the news about LIF2022 on regular basis.
